Welcome to our blog!

Our APS Ambassadors

Hi, welcome to our blog!
This blog is to commemorate the 1st collaboration between St Peter's School in India & Anderson Primary in Singapore.

Currently, we are working on a project with our friends from St Peter's via the email. It's really cool to know that emails can be used to make friends who are on another part of the same planet :) The excitement is really building up for us as we look forward to meeting our friends from India when we visit them in India from 31 August to 5 September 2007.

Stay close to our blog. There will be new post every week from either pupils from St Peter's or Anderson Primary. We will share our learning experiences prior to, during and after our India trip with all of you. We welcome any comments from you. When you are making your comments, please make every attempt to be respectful of others. Please remember the following:

  1. Be courteous

  2. Do not make any mean, embarrassing, abusive or offensive comment

  3. Use appropriate language in your comments

  4. Stay on topic and don’t change the subject

  5. Contribute new information to the discussion
(Before you comment, it will be good that you read comments that are already made by other people to make sure that your comment offers something new to the conversation)

  6. Own your comment
(Place your name on your comments)

Hi,
I am Christina from St Peter's School. My favourite place in my school is the Art room because it makes me happy to spend my time there. My art teacher Mrs Prathiba helps in making interesting and beautiful things out of things which are of no use like old newspapers. She helps us to be creative and i love my art class.I look forward for it every week. How I wish we had more art periods.

One Of the most exciting places in India is the Taj Mahal.
Anybody who sees the Taj for the very first time will be shocked because he will be wonder-struck. It is an amazing monument in Agra.
I have yet to visit the Taj in Agra and I am dying to see it.

My favourite activity in my school is using the Lingua phone.
Lingua Phone helps us to pronouce the words correctly and it teaches us the correct accent.
I like it because it is nice to learn proper English to speak. All my friends and myself enjoy repeating after the speaker and we have great fun.

My favourite place in the school is the library and the art room.

In the library, there are mainly books related to social studies, science and general knowledge. There are books about animals, tropical forest, plants and atlas too which I enjoy reading them.

The Art room is where we do glitter painting, glass painting, paper cutiings, drawings, colourings and pencil shading which all I love to do. The art teacher helps in giving the information on the above activities...

My favourite place of visit is Mahapalipuram in Chennai. I like the statues and the rocks out there. It looks so beatiful on the beach side. This very old statues whcih were built during 7th century by pallavas. I specially like the elephant and chariot which were made in single rock. What a amazing architecture done by pallavas during those days! This place also classified by UNESCO as one of the world heritage sites...

My favourite food is Pav Bhaji which is basically a bread and spicy potatato curry combination.
Its yummy, mouth watering, filling, simple and tasty. We get it in school for lunch, once a week.
All the children in our school likes it very much.
I wish all of you can try it sometime and I am sure you will agree with me.

My favourite place in our country is in Bangalore itself. Its the Planetarium. It has a amazing world in it. We can see the stars, the planets, the moon and the sun .....in short the whole universe sitting in a comfy chair for 30 minutes. It looks so real that I felt like I was in space and I could touch the stars.

My little brother John even tried jummping several times to catch a few stars so that he could carry them home in his pocket.

Its truly a wonderful experience and a place you must visit on your trip to bangalore.

There’s nothing better than spending a weeks time in Kanyakumari.Well for one thing you will never feel like returing. It’s the tip of India and the meeting point of three seas where the waves are so fresh and tempting. Coming to Kanyakumari can bring a smile on even a sad face. During the sunrise and sunset, it looks as if the sun is coming from or going into the sea. The sea has the shade of three different colours because of the three seas. In the shops near the sea shore, colourful sand and shells of different shapes and sizes are sold. The best place for sight seeing is Kanyakumari.
